Welcome!

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website.
I am a psychotherapist with a Doctorate in Naturopathy and Masters in Psychology dedicated to helping people experience healing, growth and lasting change in their personal lives, careers and relationships.

I use a therapeutic approach that is exceptionally powerful. Some clients experience remarkable results in as little as one session. How can this happen? I use an unusually effective combination of methods known for producing rapid and profound change.

When it comes to therapy, there are different levels of effectiveness. We all want to feel better, but what about feeling extraordinarily well? I believe that therapy needs to do more than merely restore us to our "previous level of functioning." Therapy should provide us with the opportunity to lead exceptional lives. If therapy simply restores us to the way we were before, what will prevent a reoccurrence of the issue that brought us to therapy in the first place? In order to prevent such a relapse, we need to discover new tools. San Jose Therapy, Therapist, Transpersonal, San Jose Psychotherapy, Counseling in San Jose
It often takes more than one tool to fix a problem San Jose Holistic Psychotherapist, Counseling in San Jose
Abraham Maslow said, "If you only have a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail."  Similarly, a therapist who only knows psychology has just one tool in their toolbox. In reality, we are a combination of mind, body, and spirit, and a purely psychological approach to psychotherapy only addresses one aspect of who we are. My book Healing & Wholeness: Complementary and Alternative Therapies for Mental Health examines thousands of studies demonstrating the exceptional level of healing that can occur when mental health is addressed from a mind-body-spirit perspective. I combine the wisdom of ancient healing practices with modern modes of psychotherapeutic theory and techniques. Specifically, I bring to therapy the skills I acquired while studying for a Doctorate in Naturopathy, Masters in Psychology, and Ph.D. in Psychology. During my education, I have learned natural methods of healing that have been used for thousands of years along with more recently developed modalities. These methods, which are discussed in detail throughout this website and my books, are valued in contemporary medicine and psychology for their effectiveness. My approach to therapy is pure, simple, and effective. To achieve consistent results, I tailor each therapy session to meet the immediate needs of each client. One of the therapists I most admire is Milton Erickson, who said "I create a new therapy for every client."  It is my guiding principle that each person is unique and needs to have therapy custom made just for them. I trust my own intuition along with the preferences and inclinations of my client to tell us what each therapy session should look like. This spontaneity combined with sensitivity makes my work kind, swift, exciting, and enlivening. Psychotherapy in San Jose, Counselor San Jose, Therapist in San Jose
I understand the importance of making my clients feel genuinely cared for and supported, while at the same time helping them to learn new ways to change behaviors and beliefs that are no longer useful. I offer a deeply human, healing partnership. I have worked with people to alleviate the myriad of problems that come with being human. Emotional pain, depression, illness, loss, regret, emptiness, transitions, recovery from family influences, yearning for change, opening to love, forgiveness, self acceptance, activating one's spiritual practice, discovery of the true self, and finding one's unique place in this world are a sampling of the issues I commonly help with. Finding the right therapist for you is important. I invite you to read through my site to see if you think we'd work well together. Please feel free to call with any questions and we can talk about how I can help. Meanwhile, I wish you safe journeys.
